Come Prepared

To help us assist you, please bring a copy of your insurance card with you when you arrive at the hospital for treatment. You will be asked to assign your insurance benefits. This will allow your insurance company to send the payment directly to the hospital.

You should familiarize yourself with the terms of your insurance coverage and call your insurer with any specific questions. This will help you understand what to expect and to plan accordingly.

Your Hospital Bill

Madison Health will submit bills to your insurance company and make every effort to assist you in getting your bill paid. Please understand, your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. The hospital does not have legal authority over your insurance company. You have final responsibility for payment of your bill; however, we have several payment options available.

Bills for Other Professional Services

If you have certain tests or treatments in the hospital, you may receive bills from physicians you did not see in person. These bills are for professional services rendered by doctors, such as pathologists, radiologists, Emergency Room physicians, etc. Insurance companies require them to submit separate bills. If you have a question about these bills, please call the telephone number printed on the billing statement.

Before scheduling an appointment or procedure, check with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage, benefits, and any pre-visit requirements.

As a patient, it is your responsibility to ensure that any services you receive are covered under your plan and to provide accurate insurance information to facilitate the billing process. Please note that Madison Health Urgent Care is not a VA-approved facility. Veterans seeking urgent care services should refer to the Madison Health Emergency Room for immediate needs or contact the VA directly for assistance in locating an in-network urgent care provider.
