Lake Choctaw residents Al and Angie Wilderman will again chair the Heartfelt Holidays fundraising event at the Choctaw Lake Lodge on Saturday, December 5. Al and Angie have been active with the Madison County Hospital Foundation and this dinner event since 2003. This year they will welcome Dan and Patty Blazer as chairs-elect.
According to the Wildermans, “Each year, on the first Saturday of December, an energetic group of volunteers turns the lodge into a winter wonderland. That evening, guests enjoy a fabulous dinner and have the opportunity to purchase items from a spectacular live and silent auction. The funds raised are used to provide care for local hospice and cancer patients who cannot afford services. It truly is a wonderful cause.”
As in years past, this year the event will be held the first Saturday in December. The doors open at 5:30 pm and the dinner and auction begin at 7 pm. Auction items include trips to Hawaii and Gulf Shores, Alabama, tickets for sporting events and unique holiday decorations. This popular event is often a sell-out, so it is recommended that you reserve your tickets early. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
Since moving to Lake Choctaw in 2007, the Blazers have been active at Heartfelt Holidays. “We’ve had such a great time at Heartfelt Holidays each year. We have met wonderful people, and feel good about supporting such a great cause. I invite anyone interested to get involved, either by attending the event, helping with decoration, donating auction items, or even helping on the clean-up crew. It takes lots of people to make this wonderful evening a success, and we’d love for more to join us.”
