Stanley Electric pledges to build on excellence
October 2, 2017

The Madison Health Foundation hosted area business leaders at the London Country Club on Wednesday, September 6, to hear an update about the Building on Excellence campaign and see the plans for the $25 million expansion project currently underway on the hospital campus.

CEO Dana Engle shared architectural drawings and described the planned changes.  “This is the largest construction project in the hospital’s fifty-five year history.  More people are choosing Madison Health for their care and we’re excited to be able to expand to meet the growing needs of our community,” he said.

The expansion includes a new two-story addition which will house a new Emergency Department, Cancer Center, and physician office space.  There will also be a connector built between the existing hospital and the Park Avenue Medical Building.  “As more hospital business is shifting from inpatient to outpatient, we’re giving our patients easier access to our outpatient services,” said Engle.

The Building on Excellence campaign was established to raise $6 million in philanthropic support for the $25 million project. The campaign got a boost on Wednesday when Stanley Electric announced that they are making a $500,000 pledge to the campaign.  “Stanley Electric is proud to be part of this exciting project at Madison Health.  Our associates are dedicated to supporting many charitable projects throughout our community and we recognize the importance of a modern healthcare facility in our community,” said Brian Boldman, Executive Vice President for Stanley Electric.

Dr. Mitchell Spahn, co-chair of the campaign thanked Stanley Electric for their gift and their continued support of the Madison Health Foundation. “Stanley Electric has been an integral part of our fundraising efforts for many years.  Thank you for always leading the way with philanthropic support in our community.”

Stanley’s gift brings the fundraising total to $3,250,000.  Dr. Spahn shared that, in addition to a $1 million gift from Buddy and Diane Byers, hospital employees, Auxiliary members and board members have all stepped up to support the campaign. “We’re fortunate to have so many wonderful people already on board to support the campaign.  And thanks to the business leaders here today for being our advocates in the community as we push forward with our fundraising efforts.”
