Emergency room entrance scheduled to change
June 6, 2017

In preparation for Madison Health’s $25 million expansion and renovation project, a significant traffic pattern change will take effect on Monday, June 12.

During this time, the existing emergency room entrance will be closed and all walk-in emergency room patients and visitors should use the main entrance to the hospital facing Main Street. The main entrance will be staffed 24 hours a day and appropriately supplied for patients in emergent situations.

Additional wayfinding signs will be installed both internally and externally to help patients and visitors locate the emergency room.

This change will only affect patients and visitors coming to the emergency room by vehicle. All ambulances will continue to transport patients using the ambulance port and entrance at the rear of the hospital.

Patients and visitors are encouraged to park in the front of the hospital. The organization will continue to utilize its courtesy cart during the day and have additional wheelchairs available.

The entrance to the Professional Office Building (POB), which currently holds office space for medical specialists on the main campus, will also be affected.

Patients accessing the POB for scheduled appointments by vehicle will use the temporary entrance and driveway off of Park Avenue beginning June 12. This entrance will be clearly marked with signage and staffed with a volunteer during the first week.

These changes will remain in effect until the completion of the project. Madison Health hopes to celebrate its completion in late 2018.

Madison Health looks forward to providing the community with continued updates as the campus expands and is renovated. The community’s patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated during this exciting time of growth!
