Madison Health Cancer Center expands oncology services
October 31, 2016

The Madison Health Cancer Center is an official member of The James Cancer Network for medical oncology services in London.  The James Cancer Network at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James), provides quality oversight of medical oncology services at Madison Health Cancer Center in London.

As demand for oncology services has grown in the community, as well as the desire for patients to stay close to home for care, the decision was made to expand the program from two to five days per week and add a second oncologist.

As part of the service line expansion, Adewale Fawole, MBBS, a board eligible hematologist oncologist from the OSUCC – James, will begin caring for patients on October 31. Dr. Fawole provides personalized specialist care to patients with cancer and blood disorders. He is passionate about providing quality care to patients; mentoring the next generation of physicians and improving the process of health care delivery.

Dr. Fawole received his medical degree from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria and completed an internship at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. After graduation, he participated in the internal medicine residency programs at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH) in Osogbo, Nigeria and the Cleveland Clinic’s Fairview Hospital. In 2016, Dr. Fawole completed his hematology and oncology fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He is currently an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University in the Division of Hematology.

“I am able to continue to bring to Madison Health the same state-of-the-art clinical care that is available to people residing in large cities because of its affiliation with the OSUCCC – James,” he said. “I work collaboratively with the team of specialists at the OSUCCC – James to ensure that patients receive the most up-to-date, individualized care. I take pride in providing personalized care that is tailored to every patient's need and situation regardless of their geographic location.”

The Madison Health Cancer Center offers onsite chemotherapy and surgery as well as outpatient chemotherapy, PICC lines and antiangiogenic therapy.
