MCH to host second annual Race for Recovery event
September 10, 2014

Madison County Hospital will host its second annual Race for Recovery on Saturday, October 11 at the London High School track.  The event will take place from 11am until 1pm.

"The purpose of the event is to bring awareness to both Physical Therapy and Breast Cancer month in order to promote healthy living prevention, hope and recovery," said Myah Thies, Director of Therapy Services at MCH.  "In Madison County, we have an extremely high incidence rate of breast cancer compared with the Ohio and national rates.  Thus, we are asking everyone to come out to help support our purpose and provide support for our community."

The Physical Therapy Department and Battelle Breast Care Center have been working diligently during the past year to plan the event.  Physical therapists will be on site, as well as mammographers, to answer any questions.  Representatives from local organizations such as Look Good Feel Better will also be available with wellness information.

Registration is $15 and each participant will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag and be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a number of door prizes.  Online registration is available at raceforrecovery2014.eventbrite.com.  To register by paper form or by phone, please call the Rehabilitation Services Department at 740-845-7275.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the MCH Foundation's Breast Cancer Endowment Fund, which assists women in our community who cannot afford breast cancer diagnostic or treatment services.
