Mike Lynch Named Honorary Chair of the 25th Annual Bob Powers Golf Classic
June 25, 2014
Madison County Hospital is pleased to announce the selection of Mike Lynch as the Honorary Chair of the 25th Annual Bob Powers Golf Classic.
Selected by a committee of his peers, Lynch was chosen as the first individual to receive the Honorary Chair designation in recognition of his support of MCH, his commitment to the MCH Foundation and his dedication to serve. In this role, Lynch will preside over festivities surrounding the 25th anniversary of the Bob Powers Golf Classic held August 13 and 14 at the London Country Club.
Lynch has supported the Bob Powers Golf Classic since its inception, both as a player and sponsor and as Chairman of the Golf Classic Committee. As owner of Rader-Lynch & Dodds Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Lynch has been serving the London community for more than 28 years. The second oldest of seven children, Lynch moved to London in 1981 where he met his wife Barb. They have two children, David, who is in the United States Navy and Elizabeth, who works at MCH as a Patient Access Tech.
Lynch has also volunteered many hours promoting MCH and is dedicated to giving back to the community. He is a member of the MCH Foundation Board and a member of the Golf Classic Committee. Lynch serves on the London Public Library Board and has served on the London Chamber of Commerce Board. He is also an advocate for Rockin’ on the Run, an organization dedicated to creating increased awareness and research for brain tumors.
“I am honored to have been chosen as the first Honorary Chair of the Bob Powers Golf Classic," said Lynch. "There are so many amazing people associated with this outing that deserve this honor as much as I do. People and places have come and gone over the years, but the most profound constant and anchor of our community has been MCH. I am privileged to serve on a committee full of dedication and devotion to the hospital for its profound impact in all of our lives."
The golf outing will support the Foundation’s current campaign, “Caring for Today and Tomorrow.” Funds from the campaign will help the hospital expand electronic health records, set up patient care endowment funds and purchase new equipment for departments such as laboratory and surgery.
Registration for teams and individuals is now open for the 25th Annual Bob Powers Golf Classic, Madison County’s largest annual charity golf event! The event features two play formats for the social or experienced golfer. For more information, or to sign up as a player and sponsor, please visit www.MadisonCountyHospital.org.
