The Madison County Hospital Foundation's Bob Powers Classic was held August 14 and 15 at the London Country Club. Each year this event raises thousands of dollars to improve healthcare services in Madison County.

“We are able to continue our mission of providing quality healthcare in Madison County because of events like the Bob Powers Classic,” said Kelly Snyder, Executive Director of the MCH Foundation.

Funds from the golf outing will benefit the Foundation's campaign "Caring for Today and Tomorrow." The $2 million campaign supports information technology initiatives, including the expansion of electronic health records; adds new equipment to radiology, surgery, and laboratory; and expands endowment funds that assist uninsured patients.

At the two-day golf event, players competed in both individual and team competitions.

Wednesday’s 15 four-person golf teams competed in a shamble with awards for both the low gross team and the low net team. Congratulations to the winners!

Low Gross Team: Kevin Flax, Bob Snyder, Richard Flax, and Gus Miller.

Low Net Team: Bob Hackett, Chris Thatcher, Sue Hackett, and Bryan Robinson.

Thursday’s 17 six-person golf teams competed in a classic scramble. Congratulations to the winners!

First Place Team: Mike Lynch, Joe Reinhard, Austin Smith, Jane Herman, Travis Fling, and Bryan Robinson.

Second Place Team: Connor Brown, Joe Reinhard, Bill Melville, Scott Campbell, Matt Keyes, and Mark Yerke.

Golfers also competed individually for closest to the pin and longest putt on two specific holes. The winners in the men’s competition were Brad Knox for closest to the pin and Tony Eshleman for longest putt. In the ladies' competition, Julie Arikawa won for closest to the pin and Nadene Schlosser had the longest putt.

Madison County Hospital and the Foundation would like to thank all the sponsors, golfers, and volunteers that made this year’s Bob Powers Classic a success.

“I am overwhelmed by the continued support of the community and hope to see everyone out on the course next year on August 14 and 15 for our 25th anniversary,” said Snyder.
