MCH swears in Auxiliary officers
January 13, 2012
During the Madison County Hospital Auxiliary's January meeting, Fred Kolb, CEO, swore in officers Anne Carter, President; Millie Newman, Vice-President; Barb Geesling, Secretary; and Linda Houser, Treasurer.
The MCH Auxiliary supports the hospital through fundraising efforts such as their annual Bake-Nic, Geranium Sale and Lights of Love celebration. Recently, the Auxiliary donated funds to help purchase new cardio-pulmonary equipment. Through the years, the Auxiliary has raised over $750,000, making Auxilians the hospital’s most generous benefactors.
"I would like to thank you all for your hard work and loyalty to Madison County Hospital," said Fred during the meeting. "We are a small hospital with a positive bottom line, and you help make that happen."
The MCH gift shop Edie's Place is also a project of the Auxiliary. Gift Shop profits are maximized by the use of an all-volunteer staff and management. Ellen Simpson and Barb Sidebotham are volunteers who help manage the shop, and they depend on a group of dedicated volunteers to staff the shop every day.
During the meeting Barb Sidebotham presented Linda Houser, Auxiliary Treasurer, with last year's profits from Edie's Place, which amounted to $16,000.
The Auxiliary’s next event is the $5 Jewelry Sale on February 15 held at MCH.
