Heartfelt Holidays — a community event to support a community cause
November 10, 2010
Each year Madison County residents support the community by planning, attending, and donating to Heartfelt Holidays, an annual event that supports the Madison County Hospital Foundation’s breast cancer endowment fund and heartfelt fund, both of which help provide financial assistance for patients.
This year’s fundraising event at Choctaw Lake Lodge on Saturday, December 4 is no exception.
“Heartfelt Holidays really belongs to Madison County,” said Mona Flax, Executive Director of the MCH Foundation. “A dedicated group of community residents coordinates the event and makes it a success. Then all the money raised goes back to help Madison County residents who need but cannot afford medical care.”
This year Lake Choctaw residents Dan and Patti Blazer will take over as chairpersons for Heartfelt Holidays with Al and Angie Wilderman serving as co-chairs.
“Each year in December a group of volunteers put together a wonderful event providing guests with a delicious dinner and the opportunity to purchase quality items from both a silent and exciting live auction,” said Patti. “I invite anyone interested to get involved, either by attending the event, helping with decoration, donating auction items, or even helping on the clean-up crew. It takes many people to make this wonderful evening a success, and we’d love for more to join.”
As in years past, the event will be held the first Saturday in December. The doors open at 5:30 pm and the dinner and auction begin at 7 pm. Auction items include trips to Hawaii and Hilton Head, SC, tickets for sporting events, and unique holiday decorations. This popular event is often a sell-out, so it is recommended that you reserve your tickets early. Click here to purchase tickets or call the MCH Foundation at 740-845-7050.
“At Heartfelt Holidays the Choctaw Lake Lodge gets turned into a winter wonderland,” said Angie. “We have some really generous community members who donate great items for our auction. It’s a truly special evening and we’re excited to be part of it each year.”
